TELE PRO IP - PBX Frequently Asked Questions Q. How do I know that I have configured my phones correctly? A. After configuration, restart IPPBX and your phones. On some phones, a separate Login or Register is also required. Type "clients" on the console where you have started IPPBX. All the phones that have registered should show up having a "1" in their status field. Q. My phones are not being registered. A. Check the following: - The DNS host name of the phone is given as the phone name in the phone configuration page A DNS record exists for the name you have given. The DNS is configured correctly on the server running IPPBX. Q. I don't have a DNS. How do I configure my phones? A. Use IP addresses as the phone names. Q. When I use IP addresses, registration / calls are taking a long time. A. Edit the file dialogserver.cfg in the /home/ippbx/pbxserver directory. Change the line dns_enabled=1 to dns_enabled=0. Q. My phone registers but does not receive calls. A. On some phones (most notably Cisco), the name configured on the phone has to be given as the user-id during user configuration on IPPBX. Change the user-id to whatever name you have configured on the phone. Q. How do I use my old analog phones with IPPBX? A. You can use a FXS gateway for using normal PSTN phones with IPPBX. Please keep two things in mind: - The gateway will have an entry in the 'phones' section of the web interface. For each PSTN phone attached, a separate user will have to be configured. The extension number for these users will have to be the same as configured on the FXS gateway. For Additional Query about TelePro -IPPBX Write us:support [at] prologixsoft [dot] com |
